Brass Turtle Diya with Stone Work
Brass Turtle Diya with Stone Work
A jewel-toned turtle, framed by the quiet glow of brass.
This Brass Turtle Diya with Stone Work brings together a tortoise-shaped form, a central lamp bowl and five accompanying brass diyas. Red and green stone work covers the shell in a closely set mosaic, bordered by brass detailing that gives the piece its distinctive texture.
Known as a kachhua deepak, the turtle form is a familiar motif in traditional Indian decorative and ritual settings. Arrange it in a home mandir or make it the centre of a festive display. The rich colours and sculptural shape also make a thoughtful housewarming or Diwali gift.
